More Details
One of my favourite things is walking along the beach at the tideline, just in that place where the sand is packed and wet and easy to walk on. Along that tideline you’ll often find seaweed, and a common type on New Zealand beaches is Hormosira banksii, also known as Neptune’s necklace.
The design of the stitch pattern that runs down the front of this cozy raglan shaped cardigan is based on these bubbles of seaweed. And just when the body starts to get a bit repetitive, there is a panel of this same texture at the small of your back, which also serves as very subtle waist shaping. For a little added interest, there is a “fake seam” running down the sleeves and the sides, and the button bands, neck band and cuffs are all rolled stocking stitch.
