The first time I drove past Rattletrack Road in Springston, Canterbury, New Zealand, I was knitting the prototype of this pattern and wondering what to call it. A lightbulb went off in my head because, well, it just fits doesn’t it?
This gorgeous scarf is a super easy to remember pattern of plain garter stitch, narrow stripes and simple eyelet lace. You increase on one side and decrease on the other to produce a parallelogram that is looong for extra wrapiness. It’s so easy to wear! I usually find the centre and hang that from the back of my neck, then swing each side around the back and back down the front again. Easy peasy!
Supplies:
- 2x 100g skeins of Nana Cindy fingering weight (4ply) yarn, 100% Merino 357m in colourways Boysenberry Ice Cream and Boysenberry Frappe - one skein of each colour
- 4mm (US 6) knitting needles
- darning needle.
Gauge:
20 sts x 36 rows in garter stitch, blocked and rested.

Approximately 190 x 24cm after blocking and resting.
