I went out for dinner one winter night with some really good mates. One of the girls admired my great big squishy Four Peaks Shawl that I had recently finished and was snuggling in that night. She said she wanted one, so when I found that it was a special birthday coming up for her (you know, one of the ones with an 0 at the end!), I decided I’d go one better and design her a whole new shawl.
This gorgeous friend keeps bees, so of course that had to be the theme, so out came the cable needle and The Apiarist’s knitted honeycombs were created. The rich texture of the main body of this shawl depicts the bees, near and far, that are heading to their hives to make that glorious honey that is so very good for us.
